Meet Kaleda

Hi, I’m Kaleda Carthran your favorite southern, spit-fire gospeler!

I was born in the small town of Wrightsville, Georgia. Dirt roads were my playground and true southern spirit was instilled within me, but it couldn’t keep me confided within its walls for too long. After spending my childhood exploring the world with my cousins and friends - venturing out a little further than I should have - I decided to bring my fire to the military. My oldest daughter, Latrice, was in the care of my mother, and I hoped to begin to build a better life for both of us.

I busted through the tiny walls of Wrightsville and launched myself into a much faster-paced life. Though I was not very militant, I still met some amazing people along the way, including my husband, Damien, whom I could not have made it without. We were stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, and, believe me, he had never met someone like me! That’s another story that can be explored in my first book, Looking Through the Mirrors of Me. We began to build a life together. We had a daughter, Kia, and got married. Once we got Latrice, we began to raise and build a family.

Raising a family was not easy! Many trials and tribulations came along and they tested our marriage, values, and whatever else they decided needed testing! Even our sanity! But through it all, we fought, even when we didn’t feel like we had any fight left. We began to have faith and trust in the Lord. Oh! But trust me, our hearts did grow weary and we felt plagued by, what seemed to us to be, never-ending struggles. Once we realized these struggles, trials, and turmoil were self-induced by allowing the enemy to infiltrate, we got it right together!

Now, I am a gospeler! If you’ve never heard of one, it’s a person who zealously teaches or professes faith in the gospel. I want to uplift and share my story because I know it will help others in their time of need. So I write about things that tug at my own heartstrings in hopes that my vulnerability will tug on your heartstrings. We can play the beautiful music of healing together! I have Keeping it Real with Kaleda, a Facebook Live talk show, where we share experiences and heal together. I also let anyone reach out to me that just may need a listening ear because you shouldn’t have to go through a storm alone unless God calls for it.

I hope I can inspire you to begin your journey of healing and prosperity.

Welcome to the crusade!
